AgriLife Silrich® P1 comprises of bacterial and fungal decomposing cultures. The cultures are listed under

  • Aspergillus awamori (MCC 0095)
  • Trichoderma viride (IIHR)
  • Trichoderma reesei
  • Cellulomonas uda
  • Cellulomonas gelida
  • Pleurotus ostreatus
  • Phaenerochaete chrysosporium
  • Trametes versicolor
  • Streptomyces lavendula

The cultures excrete enzymes and organic acids which act on hard to digest cellulose, lignin, lipid and protein by liberating enzymes like protease, laccase, lipase and cellulase enzymes which help in degrading the hard to digest biomass.

Organic matter is quite important for soil health. Overuse and abuse of chemical fertilizers adversely affects soil texture, structure and the microbial population which has declined drastically.

Microbes in soil secrete organic acids and enzymes thereby the root, debris and biomass get converted into compost and this organic matter which is important for soil health gets enhanced by microbial activity.

More organic matter means more organic carbon. Organic carbon is an indicator of soil health which is declining with time. If soil is neglected the way it is at present, then the soil will be bankrupt in another 30-40 years. Therefore, it is very important to restore soil health Therefore every form of biomass – fruit waste to animal waste should be decomposed and should be converted into organic fertilizer.

  • • AgriLife Silrich® P1 contains potent cultures which help degrade hard to digest material and convert it to useful organic matter
  • • Safe to parasites, pollinators and predators
  • • It does not lead to Pre-Harvest Interval issues
  • • No re-entry barrier issues
  • • No Maximum Residue Limit issues
  • • No resistance problems
  • • Environmentally safe and biodegradable
  • • Approved for use in organic agriculture

  • Types of formulation

Agrilife Silrich® P1 is available in the following formulations:

    • • Wettable Powder formulation – Talc base
    • • Soluble Powder formulation – Dextrose base
  • Dose and Application

    Powder formulation
    Dose: 1Kg/ Tonne Biomass

  • Application method Notes

    Application Type 1
For Controlled Decomposition of Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) of Oil Palm, Straw and similar hard to decompose Biomass:

    1. Crush biomass (empty oil fruit bunches / straw) into as small pieces as possible. The product efficacy is better with smaller pieces of biomass.

    2. Mix AgriLife Silrich® P1 in sufficient water to form a slurry.

    3. Spread the crushed biomass as a windrow and sprinkle the AgriLife Silrich® P1 slurry over it. Place another layer over the slurry application and sprinkle again.

    4. Keep adding the layers such that it is not more than 1 feet in height.

    5. Maintain a moisture percentage of 25-35 % by sprinkling water once in 4-5 days or depending on the temperature in the region

    6. Allow the biomass to decompose with AgriLife Silrich® P1

    7. It takes about 30-45 days for the treated biomass to get converted into organic fertilizer.

    Application Type 2
In-situ decomposition of biomass in field:

    1. The crop residue after harvest is left on the field.

    2. Dilute 1 Kg of AgriLife Silrich® P1 in sufficient water and spray on crop residue.

    3. Allow the biomass to decompose with AgriLife Silrich® P1.

    4. It takes about 30-45 days for the treated biomass to get converted into organic fertilizer.

    Note:

Do not store AgriLife Silrich® P1 solution for more than 24 hours after mixing in water.

  • Compatibility

    • • AgriLife Silrich® P1 is compatible with Biofertilizers and Biopesticides.
    • • AgriLife Silrich® P1 is not compatible with chemical pesticides, chemical fungicides. It is advisable to avoid chemical formulations.

Regulatory

Decomposing cultures in most countries do not come under regulatory. It does not come under Fertilizer regulatory (FCO) – Fertilizer Control Order of India. It does not come under Pesticides regulatory/ Plant protection regulatory (CIB) – Central Insecticides Board of India. However, quarantine restrictions exist in some countries for which regulatory compliance may be needed.
